How can digital tools truly support the way we train and prepare professionals for the future?

At Professionals of the Future III, our first roundtable will focus on Digital Tools for Training, exploring the role of AI, VR/AR solutions and harmonised training materials in education and skills development.

As new technologies become increasingly present in training environments, the key question is not only what these tools can do, but how they can create real pedagogical value, support learning objectives and help professionals develop future-ready skills.

This will not be a traditional panel-style discussion. Designed as an interactive and engaging moment of exchange, the roundtable will invite participants to reflect, discuss and connect ideas in a practical and collaborative way.

The discussion will also be enriched by the presence of VR-VET and INSPIRE, two European projects exploring how immersive technologies can strengthen vocational education and training. While VR-VET focuses on the integration of Virtual Reality into practical training environments, INSPIRE explores the use of Augmented Reality to support skills development and training in specialised industrial contexts. Together, they provide concrete examples of how digital tools can be translated into meaningful learning experiences, making them a natural contribution to the roundtable’s reflection on the pedagogical value of emerging technologies.

To guide this exchange, the roundtable will feature speakers connected to the topic, bringing different perspectives from education, industry, research and technology.
