EWF hosts WELDIFY’s 3rd Transnational Partnership Meeting in Portugal

Weldify meeting

On the 25th & 26th of March 2026, EWF hosted the 3rd Transnational Partnership Meeting of the WELDIFY project at its premises in Oeiras, Portugal, bringing together partners in month 16 of the project.

WELDIFY is an Erasmus+ project that addresses the growing need to develop a skilled workforce in the field of welding circular and reused metals. By responding to skills shortages in sectors such as construction and automotive, the project supports the development of training, certification and digital tools aimed at promoting high-quality, safe and sustainable welding practices. Through this approach, WELDIFY contributes to the transition towards a more circular and resilient industrial ecosystem in Europe, providing the broader framework for the activities discussed during this consortium gathering.

The meeting marked an important moment for the consortium to assess progress achieved so far and to coordinate the next phase of implementation. Partners reviewed the main developments of the project, with particular attention to the training content on Circular Material Welding (CMW), the toolkit for trainers and learners, and the related certification documents. Discussions also covered progress on the micro-credentials’ framework and the WELDIFY platform, as well as ongoing monitoring, evaluation and dissemination activities.

A central focus of the meeting was the preparation of the upcoming work-based learning pilots. Partners agreed on the approach for implementing the pilot trainings across the five competence units developed under the CMW theme. In total, six pilot activities will be carried out in Greece (2), Romania, Sweden, Spain, and Serbia.

The consortium also discussed the organisation of the train-the-trainers activity, scheduled for the last quarter of the year, which will be instrumental in preparing trainers for the effective delivery of the pilot trainings. This activity is led by EWF.

The meeting concluded with a clear roadmap for the coming months, reinforcing cooperation among partners and confirming the consortium’s shared commitment to the successful implementation of WELDIFY.
