EWF General Assembly 2025 – Second Day Focuses on the Future of Manufacturing and Sustainability
Lisbon, 21 October 2025 – The second day of the 67th EWF General Assembly continued in Lisbon, combining forward-looking discussions on the evolution of manufacturing professions with detailed updates from EWF’s technical and qualification bodies.
The morning was dedicated to the “Professionals of the Future” workshop, which brought together EWF Members and stakeholders to explore key themes shaping the manufacturing industry. Discussions focused on Artificial Intelligence, sustainability, cooperation best practices, human-centred approaches, and industry engagement, reflecting EWF’s commitment to aligning qualification and certification systems with the future skills needs of European manufacturing.
In the afternoon, the General Assembly resumed with presentations on sustainability initiatives led by Diana Rodrigues, followed by updates from the International Joining Qualification and Certification Council (IJQCC). Reports were delivered by the convenors of the Areas of Competence on Training and Qualification, Certification, and System Rules, highlighting continued harmonisation and development across the EWF qualification system.

The Assembly also reviewed recent collaboration projects, including the SINGFORGREEN project results and their integration into the IAMQS framework, demonstrating EWF’s leadership in promoting sustainability within qualification systems.
Concluding the meeting, EWF President Stefano Morra announced the venue for the next General Assembly in May 2026 will be in Istambul - Turkey and presided over the handover of the EWF Presidency, marking a symbolic transition as EWF continues its mission to strengthen Europe’s manufacturing sector through harmonised qualification, certification, and innovation initiatives.
