- Establishing a documented framework for on-line concurrent engineering and cooperation between large industrial auto and aeronautical companies and its suppliers
NETFRAME, a European Commission funded project, aiming at solving the dilemna for ways to improve customer-to-Manufacturer and Manufacturer-to-Supplier relationships in order to improve overall productivity of the manufacturing sector ended after three years of development. The project generated a significant number of outputs, namely:
» Audit tool for the certification of the capabilities of companies to cope with Customer-to- Manufacturer and Manufacturer-to-Supplier relationships.
» Benchmarking tool; available via the Internet, is compatible to the audit tool to support an integrated improvement approach.
» Self assessment tool; which assesses technologies and business processes according to a set of best practices and then proposes a set of
recommendations concerning areas for improvement that will point a path for the SME that, if followed, will improve their ability to be certified.
