the scalable solutions for welders

Welcome to Distool Weld

Nowadays, the qualification of professionals in welding technologies is available and harmonised in 29 European countries. However, most of the courses for obtaining this qualification are organised according to traditional teaching methods.
The development of the innovative learning material will attract more persons to the welding area by improving the overall quality of the qualifications currently on offer.
Focused in the development of a new educational tool based on a training product prepared by SLV Duisburg to be transferred to different target countries, the DISTOOLWELD Project will constitute an important starting point for an increase in the application of distance learning for the qualification of professionals in the area of welding technologies.

DISTOOLWELD will provide innovative teaching methodologies aimed at improving the quality of existing VET courses and stimulating welding trainees' mobility between the partner countries.

Testimonial

Manufacturing industry in Europe represents approximately 30% of the overall GDP. From this a significant part is related with metal products, produced in Europe in companies that need to use welding to join parts of many different, sizes, shapes, and materials. Key staff in all welding related activities needs to have an appropriate level of competence in welding technology and its application to assure safety and reliability of the welded constructions and to prevent catastrophic failures and costly repairing. EWF runs a training, qualification and certification system for welding personnel that assures the competence of welding personnel as recognized by all stake holders (industry, standards, etc). For this System to maintain the leadership in Europe continuous improvement is needed. The present project contributes to this by creating the base for the use of an innovative distance learning tool to be implemented in the EWF courses is 4 countries.
