CERTIFICATION  .  COMPANIES

EWF, by virtue of its unique international expertise, has developed a high integrity and specialised certification system for metalworking companies.

In 2007 EWF and IIW agreed to transfer to IIW the EWF Manufactures Certification System, only in the field of the Certification Scheme in accordance with the ISO 3834. In January 2008 IIW has approved the IIW Manufactures Certification Scheme.

The EWF Integrated Manufacturers Certification System MCS is at the present divide in three two main areas, they are:

Certification Scheme of Manufacturers of Welded Products in Accordance with ISO 3834 .
Certification Scheme of Manufacturers of Welded Products operating with Environmental Management System - EMS
Certification Scheme of Manufacturers of Welded Products operating with a Health and Safety Management Scheme - SMS

The EWF/IIW Manufacturers Certification System is in accordance with the document EA-6/02E requirements, but EWF has also inserted on this system some specific requirements namely for the Assessors.

Great care has been taken to detail the interpretation of ISO 3834 in terms of third party assessment, to specify and register properly trained scheme assessors and devise an operational structure so that certification of Manufacturers will be consistent whenever the scheme rules are applied.

The EWF EMS Certification Scheme was developed according with the EN 14001, the scheme covers welding and allied activities as applicable to the Company's operations. The Certification may only be applied to Manufacturers who can demonstrate that their welding and allied activities are already appropriately controlled and optimised from the production point of view. One way of demonstrating this is by compliance with the EWF/IIW ISO 3834 Scheme.

The EWF SMS Certification Scheme was developed according with the BSI 8800, the scheme covers welding and allied activities as applicable to the Company's operations. The Certification may only be applied to Manufacturers who can demonstrate that their welding and allied activities are already appropriately controlled and optimised from the production point of view. One way of demonstrating this is by compliance with the EWF/IIW ISO 3834 Scheme.
