Improvement on the accessibility of welding related training courses – ACCESSWELD

ACCESSWELD is a Leonardo da Vinci project, co-funded by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme. The project intends to counter the difficulties in attracting younger students to welding education, making it more stimulating and improving the student's accessibility

In order to do this, ACCESSWELD will focus on the following:

Promoting the access of secondary students to welding education;
Using ICT technologies to better reach young audiences and to better promote the welding profession and career;
Extending the knowledge gained from the project beyond the involved partners;

In order to do this, ACCESSWELD will focus on the following:

An improved dissemination methodology for the welder qualification systems in secondary schools;
Development of a computer game to make welding more appealing to young people;
To undertake the necessary Didactic Seminars in secondary schools, across the partner countries, to guarantee a good outreach of the project and to draw more prospective trainees to welding education;

The project began in January 2011 and will finish in December 2012.

Partnership: EWF (PT), ISQ (PT), IS (PL), MHtE (HU), IIS (IT), ASR (RO) and LTU (SE).
